Robert McBride, 82, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Villa Del Sol Nursing Home surrounded by his family.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. On June 10, 1954 Robert was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Ennenga in Lake Crystal, Minnesota. Robert had been employed at Arbys Feeds and retired from Lennox Industries. Robert had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Marshalltown. He enjoyed helping with the Boy Scouts, fishing, golfing and had a lot of interest in H O TrainsLeft to cherish Roberts memory are his wife of 57 years; Shirley, his children: June Burns of Belle Plain, Iowa, Julie (Marvin) Carty, JoEllyn (Jeffrey) Chesick and Robert R. (Brenda) McBride, all of Marshalltown, eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, his brothers; Leon of Surprise, Arizona, Eugene of Michigan, Wilford of Dallas, Iowa, Ronald and Richard of Wisconsin, sisters; Betty Hanlin of Montour, Iowa and Irene Ward of Wisconsin.Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, a brother, Chester and sisters; Dorothy and Winnifred.
