Robert "Bob" Nichols

Robert E. Nichols, 69, of Marshalltown, passed away on July 20th, 2021, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.   Cremation rites have been accorded, and the family will be leading a celebration of life on August 28 from 1-6PM at the UAW Local 893, 411 Iowa Avenue West, Marshalltown, IA 50158. Robert Nichols was born April 22, 1952, in Marshalltown to Clifford and Nona (Wallen) Nichols. Robert graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1970, and September 9, 1972, Robert was united in marriage to the love of his life, Tam McDowell. Robert dedicated 47 years to working at Lennox Industries. Bob was an active member of the UAW Local 893 for 40 years and was also a member of the YMCA-YWCA. He enjoyed woodworking, tending to his lawn and being outdoors, and going to his grandchildren’s activities as well as spending time with his family.    Those left to cherish are his loving wife of 49 years, Tam; his children, Jeff (Stacey) Nichols of Liscomb and Nicki (Jake) Reynolds of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Boden “Bo,” Cohen, and Ryker; his siblings, George (Cheryl Lord) Nichols, Candy (Doug) Judge, Deb Nichols, Phyllis Schell, and Norman Waldo; and his mother, Nona. Robert is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Tom (Christine) Blessing, Kim Wells, Sam Armstrong, Susan Eldridge, Matt Nichols, and Beth Nichols.  Bob is reunited in death with his father, Cliff, and his sister, Pat Armstrong.
