Robert J. Rempp, 83, of Lamoille, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN.Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Lamoille Congregational Church with Rev. Harlan Nuss officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Robert and his family.Robert John Rempp was born on August 27, 1928 in Montezuma, IA; he was the son of Lionel and Allie (Gorsuch) Rempp. Robert graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Velma De Butts on December 31, 1950. One of Roberts passions was working. He was a truck driver for more than thirty five years, a majority of it was with Bos Truck lines. In his later years, Robert drove a bus for the West Marshall School District. One of Roberts favorite pass times was tinkering in his shop and always helping other people whenever asked. He took special pride and joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved all of his family dearly.He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Velma Rempp of Lamoille; his children: Doug (Shari) Rempp of Estes Park, CO, Craig (Julie) Rempp of Stanchfield, MN, and James (Becky) Rempp of Andover, MN; his nine grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren; his one brother; his two sisters; his many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
