Robert Rob Roberts, 69, of Ferguson, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Central Iowa Healthcare. Public services for Rob will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016, at the Ferguson Christian Bible Church with Pastor Darren Young officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where his family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Rob and his family. Rob (Robert) Leland Roberts was born on February 16, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of William Roberts and Ruth Gray. Rob was also blessed to call Fran Roberts his mother. He was raised and educated in the Moline Illinois. Rob honorably and proudly served his Country enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he served many years protecting his family and Country. On October 13, 1979, he was united in marriage to Linda Curry in Mascoutah, IL. After his time in the Air Force he attended Marshalltown Community College. Rob was a hardworking man dedicating his time at Mesquaki Casino, DMACC and Hamilton Business College. He had a true passion for fixing computers, gambling, watching movies, competitive cooking, racing, attending concerts, skydiving, free-lance photography, painting, sign making and karate. His most important passion was spending time with his family and friends. He adored his children and supported them in everything they have done. His love for his wife Lin was always a driving force for him. Rob was the man you would meet on the street and he would talk to you like he saw you every day and always a smile and a joke to brighten your day. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Lin Roberts; children: Jason Wood of Seattle, WA, Michelle (Mike) Fisher of Grinnell, Iowa, Danniella Dee (Jason) Vajgrt of Marsahlltown, IA, Leland (Cara) Roberts of Newton, IA and Samuel Curry of Marshalltown, IA; grandchildren: Dean Dupee, Anjel Hayes, Justeen Vajgrt, Lorelei Vajgrt and Warren Roberts; sibling: sister Elizabeth; and his sweet puppy, Teddy. He is preceded in death by his father, daughter Angelique and sister Carolyn.
