Robert Schwalbach

Robert T. Schwalbach, 91, of Bickford Cottage in Marshalltown, died Monday, July 20, 2009. According to Bobs wishes, his body has been cremated and no formal funeral services or visitation will be held. Burial will be at a future date in St. Marys Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois. Robert Theodore Schwalbach was born on June 23, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Theodore and Catherine (Kapinska) Schwalbach. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. Bob lived in the Chicago area until moving to Bickford Cottage in 2005. He was employed at Oak Forest Hospital as a power plant engineer. He enjoyed anything to do with water and boats. He was also a talented musician, playing the guitar and organ. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and building model boats. He will be missed by his two children, Doloreus (Leslie) Reifke of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, and Robert T. (Vicki) Schwalbach of Gilman, Iowa; his four grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren. In death, he has rejoined his wife, Kathleen, who died in 1999, and his sister, Lillian Picha.
