Robert E. Vokoun, 67, of Legrand, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospital.Per Bobs wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no funeral services held. Phone 641-844-1234.Robert Edward Vokoun was born on December 13, 1942, in Marshall County. He was the son of Glen and Dorothy (Greenley) Vokoun. He graduated from Legrand High School. Bob served our country honorably in the United States Army. He was a lifetime Marshall County resident.Bob was an over-the-road trucker. He retired from Ruan Transportation Management Systems in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, boating, walking through the timber, watching NASCAR, and spending quiet time alone.Bob is survived by his son, Donald (Shawna) Vokoun of Garwin; his grandchildren Katie Mercer of Marshalltown, Jackie Cummings of Marshalltown, Kaiya Stanley of Garwin, Takota Vokoun of Garwin, and Damien Vokoun of Garwin; his mother Dorothy Vokoun of California; his sisters Claudia Peshel of Legrand and Carolyn Davis of California; his former spouse and friend Judy Vokoun; and his dog Pumpkin.In death he rejoins his father.
