Robert (Bob) A. Wyjack, 84, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Iowa Veterans Home. Services for Bob will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Bob will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be directed in Bobs name to be designated by his family at a later time. Bob was born September 9, 1928, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Albert and Dahlia (Bolgiano) Wyjack. Bob quit high school at the age of seventeen to join the Coast Guard. After talking with a Marine recruiter, Bob joined the Marines instead. He quickly became Corporal while in China, and honorably served our country during WWII as a Basic Rifleman, receiving six medals during his service. With his willingness to help anyone and everyone, Bob did odd jobs around Marshalltown such as lawn care and snow removal, mowing eighteen lawns each summer. Bob and his companion, Yvette Randolph, spent many years together. He was a member of The American Legion, as well as the VFW. Bob had a true passion for fishing. He was also a Foster Grandparent until his health kept him from doing so.Bob is survived by his Aunt Shirley (Jack) Hansen, Uncle Donald Wyjack, as well as Yvettes family, Shirley Glenn, Roger (Sandy) Glenn, Kimberly (Justin) Blue, Dina (Ross) Wiebensohn; and his devoted friends Al and Eileen Marshall and several Cousins.Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and companion, Yvette.
