Roberta "Robin" Cooper

Roberta “Robin” Louise Cooper, 60, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 in the comfort of her own home. Memorial services for Robin will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Roberta Louise Rhoades was born in Black River Falls, Wisconsin on September 28, 1961. She was the daughter of Leslie “Les” and Linda Hail Rhoades. On January 1, 1993, Robin was united in marriage to John “Papa Smurf” Cooper Sr. Together; they lived in Unionville, Missouri for eight years before calling Marshalltown home. Robin enjoyed arts and crafts, puzzles, anything to do with law, and motorcycles. One of her proudest achievements was being a breast cancer survivor. Robin is survived by her husband of 29 years, John. Children: Casandra (Chris O’Connell) Holden of Waterloo, Courtney (Louis) Walsingham of Missouri, Jared (Hannah) Thomas of Marshalltown, Brandy Cooper of Texas and Johnnie Ray Cooper II of Des Moines. Grandchildren: Curtis, Jade, Autom, Alicia, Bentley, Decklen, Braxton, Leah, Taisha, Cody, Mary, Emilie, Phoenix, Aashlyn, Seth, Dayton, Julie, Shaylee, Caden and numerous others. Great grandchildren: Daisy Mae and Michael. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary and Les (Joyce) Rhoades Jr. and parents, Leslie and Linda. Robin is preceded in death by her grandson, Jared; grandparents, Hattie and Harvey West; nephew, Chad and brother-in-law, Ken Axelsen.
