Roberta Ann Wasielewski

July 22, 1939 — January 1, 2018

Roberta A. Wasielewski, 77, child of God, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2018 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. She had spent the previous 3 days surrounded in love by her husband, Robert, six children/spouses, and grandchildren. Roberta was the cherished wife of Robert K. Wasielewski for 57 years. She was the honored mother of Peter (Starla) Wasielewski, Paul (Karla) Wasielewski, Therese (J Kelly) McCoy, Blanche (William) Ludiker, Robin Brekke (Rick Ertz), and Mary (Edward) Kirkpatrick. Roberta was the beloved grandmother of Aaron and Daniel Wasielewski; Kelly Marie Usrey, Margaret and William McCoy; Ashley Morrell, Devin, Austin and Hannah Ludiker; Shayla Owen, and Robert Kirkpatrick. Great grandchildren include: Oliver, Lewis and Max Wasielewski, and Siler Wasielewski. Roberta’s siblings include: Bruce Inkmann, Robert Inkman, Sharon Ratajczyk, Mary Ludyan, and Jean McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Inkmann and her parents. Roberta was born on July 22, 1939 to Benedict and Elsie Revelant Inkmann in West Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up in Milwaukee and West Milwaukee and graduated from Mercy High School in 1952. She went on to attend Sisters of Saint Agnes School and Alverno College in Milwaukee. Roberta worked for Zimmerman’s Drugstore and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. On May 7, 1960 she married Robert Wasielewski and together they raised 6 children. They moved to Marshalltown March 1968 where Bob became a supervising inspector for the state of Iowa with Underwriters Laboratories. Services on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Saint Henry’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa will include a public visitation at 1:00, funeral service mass at 2:00, followed by a meal in the church hall.
