Born on June 8th, 1957, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Melvin Eugene Pete and Winifred (Warnell) Croskey. As a red-headed young boy who buzzed around like a bumble bee, his mom readily named him Buzz. His siblings can attest, he was his mothers favorite child! Buzz attended school at South Tama and then enlisted in the United States Navy to serve our country honorably from 1975 to 1976. He returned home and was a truck driver and did security work at a gated community in Arizona. Buzz was united in marriage to Pam Johnson and together they had a son, Danny. Later, he married Wanda Lepley and to this union, Jessica and Kaylynn were born. Buzz was later blessed in his marriage to Theresa by having her children- Darren, Jamie and Chad Horne all enter his life. It only took four marriages, but on August 4th, 2009, he married the love of his life Bonnie De Wester and they have two daughters- Stephanie and Haley. Even during his own health crisis, he always was worried about Bonnie and taking care of her. Buzz was also proud of his son, Collin, who he found out 13 years after his birth was his son in Arizona. Buzz enjoyed traveling the countryside, visiting friends and sharing laughs and telling dirty jokes! A good barbeque, night at the races, times with his family and a Miller High Life in hand could not be outdone. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, the Arizona Cardinals and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are Bonnie, his loving wife of five years and companion of 15, his children: Danny (Katy) Croskey of Tama, Jessica Croskey of Cedar Rapids, Kaylynn (Joe) Burke of Marshalltown, Collin (Lorraine) Emde of Burlington, Haley (Brandon) Mosley and Stephanie Franciskovich all of West Burlington, Darren Horne and Jamie (Chris) Cumbia all of Mesa and eleven grandchildren as well as his brother Mike Croskey of the IVH and sister Kathy Croskey of Marshalltown. In death, Buzz rejoined his step-son, Chad Horne, his parents and brother, John.
