Rogene Hausafus

Rogene Hausafus (68), of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on May 27, 2015, at Grandview Heights Rehabilitation and Healthcare center in the presence of her family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1st, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Marshalltown Animal Rescue League. Rogene Kay Morey was born at the deaconess hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa, to George Ernest Morey and Betty Mae Weaver on November 2nd, 1946. She was raised and educated in Marshalltown, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1964. In 1966, in Missouri, she and Ralph Ethan Sprague were married. Together they raised their son Douglas in Marshalltown, until their divorce. On May 22nd, 1976, in Nashua, Iowa, she married William Dale Hausafus at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. Reggie and Bill moved to Albion, eventually settling in Marietta, Iowa. She was a bartender at Bobs Tap in Marshalltown for 12 years, also worked at Clean-Right Cleaners for 15 years until her retirement. Reggie was always an artist and loved painting porcelain with her Mother, that her Aunt (Mom) Elva Weaver cast. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and all things Christmas. Her greatest loves were being a Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, William Hausafus; Grandchildren: Teandra Hausafus and Nakita Hausafus; Great-Grandchildren: Gloria and Natalie Susie; Siblings: Melanie Hodson and Greg Morey. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. And her special little dog Sheba. In death she rejoins: her mother Betty and stepfather Robert Kelly, her birth father George Morey and her son Douglas Hausafus. As well as many beloved pets.
