Roger L. Dutton

Roger Lee Dutton, 65 of Clemons, IA, passed away on February 8, 2025, at UnityPoint Health - Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

Roger was born on June 22, 1959, to Wendell “Bud” and Esther (Krough) Dutton in Marshalltown, IA. After graduating from West Marshall, class of 1978, Roger worked as a tradesman in farming, construction, and a packing plant. Roger then went into the trucking industry, where he later retired in 2023.

Roger and Connie Boyd were joined in marriage on June 1, 2019, at their home on Lake Ponderosa in Montezuma, IA. They also spent time together at their home in Clemons, IA when not enjoying time at the lake with family and friends.

Roger loved to hunt, especially deer and pheasants, and he enjoyed spending his time cruising the lake with Connie and his black lab, “Sadie Girl,” who was often riding passenger side. He cherished time spent golfing, fishing, riding snowmobiles, and ATVing, as well.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell “Bud” and Esther, his stepfather Gilbert Kester, two brothers Rick and Russell Dutton, and his first dog Mandy.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, and son, Ryan (Lui) Dutton of Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by his siblings: Rod (Dodie) Dutton of Marshalltown, IA, Vicki Huntrods of Marshalltown, IA, Wendi Dutton of Baxter, IA, his “Sadie Girl;” many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Service will be held on Thursday, February 13 at 11:00 A.M. also at Mitchell Family Funeral with interment following the service at Clemons Cemetery in Clemons, IA.
