Roger D. Ebrecht

Roger D. Ebrecht, age 80 of Garwin, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook.

Roger Dean Ebrecht was born on August 1, 1944 in Marshalltown, the only child born to Ralph and Lucy (Babor) Ebrecht. He graduated from Garwin High School in the Class of 1964.

On December 26, 1966, Roger was united in marriage with Pat Metz in Tama, IA.

Roger worked for Fisher Controls as building and grounds maintenance for 38 years before retiring in 2004. He was a member of the UAW.

Roger’s favorite thing was collecting tractors, attending tractor and horse auctions and intrigued by trucks. He was an animal lover, especially his cats and grand-dogs. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping with his family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lucy; in-laws, Lyle and Barbara Metz; and brother-in-law, Duane Metz. He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Donnie Ebrecht and Darcy McCubbin; and granddaughter, Delaney McCubbin. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Gloria Metz, Alan (Sue) Metz, Danny (Belinda) Metz, Debbie (David) Worley, Mike Metz, Jeff (Pam) Metz, Mary (Keith) Struve, Angie (Steve) McClellan.

There will be a family led Celebration of Life held from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Garwin Community Building. Memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
