Roger Fisher

Roger Clayton Fisher, 72, of St. Anthony, IA, passed away December 4th at his home. Per Rogers wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been caring for Roger and his family.Roger was born November 11th, 1936, in Ames, IA, the son of Grover and Opal (Cody) Fisher. He attended the Ames schools and then joined the Navy in 1956. He served in the See Bees for 20 years, retiring in 1976. He served in the South Pacific, 3 tours in Viet Nam, where he received a Purple Heart. His rank was Chief Petty Officer. Roger loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Roger is survived by his brothers, Robert (Joreen) Fisher of Rural Zearing, David (Murdie) Fisher of State Center; his 5 nieces and nephews; and his 11 great nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Opal, and his grandparents.
