Roger Dean Linser, 81, of Marshalltown passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held on at 10:00 a.m. on Monday November 11, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday November 10, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to Gideons Bible Fund. Roger Dean Linser was born on October 6, 1932, in Alexandria , Minnesota, he was the son of Robert Happy and Della (Kloehn) Linser. Roger attended Alexandria High School graduating with the class of 1950. He then attended Prairie Bible Institute; he also had attended Floor Covering Product School of Innovation. On August 1, 1954, Roger was united in marriage to Mary Alice Wark at the First Methodist Church in Henning Minnesota. Roger and Mary owned and operated Mary Lynn Interiors and Fabric in Marshalltown for 30 years. Roger was a member of the Gideons, Master Gardner, Iowa Floorcovering, Lions Club and the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. He loved to garden, hunt, fish, cut and split wood. Roger was a man of great faith and loved and cherished his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Mary , Children: Daniel(Kay) Linser, Mark (Elaine) Linser all of Marshalltown, Iowa , Judith Culberson of Long Island, New York, Tim Linser of Washington, D.C. and Philip (Linda) Linser of Ankeny, Iowa. Siblings: Don (Carrol) Linser, Rolie (Lois) Linser, Diane ( Dean) Parker and Jerome (Mary Anne) Linser. In death Roger rejoins his parents, Robert Happy and Della Linser, and a son, Joel.
