Roger Dale Reeves Sr.

Roger Dale Reeves Sr. age 82 of Albion, Iowa passed away on Friday afternoon, February 17, at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, in the IMMC Critical Care Unit. Extensive emergency care was given, and the family was around him at his passing.

Born Roger Dale Reeves on September 12, 1940, in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was the son of Edward (Edgar) and Edna (Brewer) Reeves. He received his education in Marshalltown and attended college class at MCC.

Roger joined the navy when he was 17 and was a signalman on the U.S.S. O'Bannon stationed out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he married his first wife Mabel, and was the father of three sons, Roger Jr., Jack and (the late) Robert Reeves.

Roger was a journeyman machinist. Working at Fisher Governor, John Deere to name a few and retired from Kiowa, Corp. in Marshalltown, Iowa. Roger was a proud member of the Amalgamated UAW Local 893.

Roger married Dianne Elaine (Smith) Reeves of Marshalltown, Iowa in 1978 and was stepfather of two boys Mark and Schain Smith.

Roger's siblings were Eleanor L. Reeves Zhorne, 1918-2012, Gladys Marie Reeves Walton, 1920-2019, and Eldon Lavon Reeves, 1924-1995

Roger's Survivors include Shirley Beurskens of Marshalltown, Nancy (Rog r) Suey of Fremont, NE, Joyce Elliott. Marshalltown. Roger was blessed with many nieces and nephews as well as grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and great-great-great­ grandchildren who will all remember him proudly and fondly.

Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening an occasional card game and pampering his feline friends both in and out of door's who will miss him immensely.
