Roger Romick

Roger Romick, 71, of Union, Iowa, passed away on January 13, 2021 in the comfort of his home. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. Per the request of the family, please come dressed in casual attire. A family led celebration of life will be held at a later date. Roger Dale Romick was born June 25, 1949 to parents Paul and Betty (Briggs) Romick in Knoxville, Iowa. He attended school in the Des Moines area and graduated from North High School. Roger went on to enlist in the United States Navy, serving honorably for three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a proud veteran and a member of the American Legion in Conrad. After his time of service, Roger returned to Iowa, having lived in Des Moines, Marshalltown and Union, where he worked for Union Pacific Railroad. On March 30, 2012 he was united in marriage to Linda Hart at home in Union, Iowa. In his free time, Roger enjoyed riding horses, fishing, working on cars and yard work.  He could talk to anyone and never met a stranger. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda; his sisters: Sheila Fagen and Marilyn (Pat) Harrington; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous friends. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Butch Fagen, nephew Doug Fagen and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
