Roger Schubert, 60, of Marshalltown, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 4th, at his home in Camdenton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kim Wilson of the Green Mountain United Church of Christ and United Church of Christ in Marshalltown officatiing. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow the services with ennichement in the Riverside Columbarium. Born on March 3rd, 1948, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Israel and Leona (Shively) Schubert. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and served our country honorably in the United States Marines Corps including two tours in Viet Nam. Roger was employed at Gra-Iron for many years until their closing and most recently at a company marketing and making railroad ties. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Moose Lodge. Left to cherish his memory is his brother Bob Schubert of Marshalltown and sister Janice Thomas of Cedar Rapids. In death he has rejoined his parents.
