Ronald Lolwing, 61, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, September 24th, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospital. A vigil service will be held Monday, September 29th, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Father Don Czapla officiating. Ron will be laid to rest at a future date. Ph 641-844-1234.Ronald Herman Lolwing was born on May 1, 1947, in Marshalltown to Herman and Blanche (Wilkins) Lolwing. Ron attended St. Marys Catholic School and then was a member of Marshalltown High Schools first graduating class in 1965. He attended bricklayer school in Des Moines. On May 21, 1966, he married Marie Perkins. To this union, two children were born- Bryan and Michelle. They later divorced. Ron married the love of his life, Sarah Mills, on November 26, 1977 in Newton.Ron was employed as a bricklayer for over 40 years, most recently at Boucher Masonry of Boone, where he retired from in May. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Electra Glide with Sarah, watching the Cubs, being outdoors, ice fishing, and socializing with his friends. He was a Deadhead and also enjoyed Merle Haggard. Ron was a member of the Bricklayers Union and ABATE Iowa.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sarah; his children, Bryan Lolwing of Marshalltown, Michelle (Curt Peterson) Lolwing-Peterson of Newton, and Wayne Mills of Marshalltown; his 6 grandsons, Tyler, Jonathan, Brandon, Matthew, Riley, and Benjamin; his 2 granddaughters, Ryan and Macey; his ex-wife, Marie Perkins of Marshalltown; his mother-in-law, Patricia Harp of Marshalltown; his sister-in-law Shirley Wenner; his niece Jessica Wenner; his nephew Andy Stengele; his pets, Bandit and Desi; and a host of friends.In death, he has rejoined his parents and his dogs, Sadie and Buck.
