Ronald Davis, 79, of Marshalltown, died early Monday morning, December 14th, at the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Ron will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alex Post of the Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until services begin. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens following services. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ron and his family. Born on October 15th, 1936, at Clemons, Iowa, he was the son of Ivan and Maxine (Frohwein) Davis. He received his education in the area of his birth and graduated from the State Center Schools in 1956. Ron was raised in the St. John Lutheran Church north of State Center. He later served our country honorably in the United States Army. On May 26th, 1962, he was united in marriage to Beverly Jane Hines at the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Montour. They made Marshalltown their home where Ron was employed at UPS until his retirement. He enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, reading, hunting and his grandkids sporting events. Ron was a proud member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Teresa (Anthony) Mattern of Navasota, TX. and Trent Davis of Marshalltown, Iowa; his grandchildren- Courtney Thogersen, Jens (Katherine) Thogersen, Kallie Davis and Cole Davis; step-grandchildren- Matthew, Joseph and Timothy Mattern; one great-grandson- Carter Thogersen and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Ron rejoined his beloved Bev who died on November 14th, 2013, his parents, his sister Reba and brothers Richard, Rodney and Roger Davis.
