Ronald Steven Harris

Ronald Steven Harris, 70, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Accura Health Care and under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home.

Ronald Harris was born on May 19, 1955 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Marlin Ray and Doris Mae (Kroener) Harris. Ron was self-employed, operating his own snowplowing business and was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed going fishing, deer hunting and riding his motorcycle. Ron also liked watching NASCAR, WWE/WCW, and westerns, especially Gunsmoke and Bonanza, and more recently had gotten into the UFC. He was also an amazing cook- his specialty being his potato salad and homemade ice cream. He had been a member and past president of the Coon Club in Le Grand.

Ron is survived by his daughter: Angela (Daniel) Harless of Madrid; girlfriend of twenty plus years: Brenda Thomas of Marshalltown and her son, Jason “Skip” (Holly) Thomas and their daughter, Taylor; grandchildren: Ruth Harless, Gracelynn Walde and William Harless; and sister: Patti (Jerry) Qualls of Grinnell. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, many friends along with his dog: Dillon.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Cheryl Parris, Cathy Bolle and Duane Harris along with his dogs: Roxy and Harley.
