Ronald Papenberg

Ronald Papenberg, 74, lifelong State Center area farmer, died Wednesday, October 27th, at the State Center Nursing and Rehab Center. Per Rons wishes, no services will be held. Born on July 10th, 1941, at the family home in State Center, he was the son of Earl and Ruth (Edler) Papenberg. He graduated from the State Center High Schools Class of 1959. Ron served in the Army Reserves and farmed all of his life. On September 14th, 1976, he was united in marriage to Donna Bruchlacher. He was blessed with her four children becoming his step-children. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Donna, four step-children- Frank Knights of State Center, Karen Koenig of Hampton, Daniel Knights of Waverly and Russell Knights of Grinnell, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild (with one on the way!) as well as sister Marlene Stauffer in Oregon three nephews and two nieces. In death, he rejoined his parents and only brother, Gary.
