Ronald V Shipley

Ronald Verl Shipley, 72, of Clemons, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at his home and under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home.  Memorial services for Ronald will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ronald and his family. Ronald Shipley was born on October 10, 1945 in Clemons, Iowa to Verl and Irene Hauser Shipley. Ronald graduated from West Marshall High School in 1963. He was employed at Fishers for 10 years before pursuing his lifelong dream of farming. On December 10, 1980, Ronald was united in marriage to Jean Doser at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Ronald enjoyed reading, watching westerns, tractor pulls, going to Canada to fish and farming and raising livestock. He especially enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family.  Ronald is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jean. Children: Dawn (John) Jamison of Laurens, Iowa, Jolene (Mark) Matney of Ankeny, Iowa and Travis (Beth) Shipley of Ankeny, Iowa. He is also survived by grandchildren: Justin Arment, Caleb (Shelby) Jamison, Cara (Nelson) Shimon, Keegan Jamison, Abby Matney, Aidan Matney, great granddaughter Adeline Jamison and grand puppy Bear as well as his siblings, Bev Drew, Donald Shipley, Joanne Swaney, Judi Gard and nieces, nephews and other family members.  Ronald is preceded in death by his daughter in infancy Heather Shipley and parents Verl and Irene.
