Ronald Steward

Ronald Rocket Steward, 58, of Boone, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at his home.Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010, at Evangelical Free Church in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234.Ronald Edward Steward was born on October 14, 1951, in Marshalltown. He was the son of James and Shirley (Kimbal) Steward. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1969. Ron attended MCC and went on to graduate from UNI. Ron married Rita Simbides in Marshalltown. Two children were born to that union. They later divorced. In June of 2001, Ron married Linda Simonson in Marshalltown.Ron was employed at Eagle Iron Works for 22 years. He enjoyed playing tennis and hiking in the woods with his beloved dogs Katie and Patches. He loved painting, attending the kids sporting events, and making snow sculptures.Survivors include his wife Linda Steward of Boone, his son Aaron Steward of Marshalltown, his daughter Shanna (Chad) Blink of Pella, and his two grandchildren Alyssa Blink and Autumn Blink of Pella. He is also survived by his brother Steve (Terry) Steward of Michigan. In death he rejoins his parents.
