Mr. Ronald Wickam, 69, of Marshalltown, entered into eternal life with his Savior and Lord early Tuesday morning, March 31st, at his home while in care of his loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 3rd, at the Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Mason officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Oakland Cemetery at Centerville. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Ron and his family. Ph 641-844-1234. Born on August 2nd, 1939, at Cincinnati, Iowa, he was the son of Clarence and Lelah (Cook) Wickam. He graduated from the Cincinnati High School in 1957. On May 22nd, 1959, in Cincinnati, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Cook. They made their home in Marshalltown. Mr. Wickam was a proud representative of the meat packing industry, being in the business for 42 years- two years at Wilson Pack and one at Tama Pack, but 39 years with Swift and Company until retiring in 2001. Mr. Wickam was a charter member of the Liberty Baptist Church, treasured his family and friends, enjoyed fishing and smoking/curing meats and found constant peace in his faith. Left to cherish his memory are Carolyn, his loving wife of nearly 50 years, son L. Allen Al (Patty) Wickam and their children Seth, Mariah, Chloe and Sophie; daughter Ronda (Rick) Blanchette and their son Dax all of Hampshire, Illinois, aunts Carolyn Wickam of Seymour, Iowa and Janet Wickam of Rockford, IL, Carolyns family the Cooks, his church family and several friends. Ron has rejoined his parents and sister Geneva ODonnell.
