Ronald Lee Wolken

Ronald Lee Bear Wolken, 68, of State Center, died May 8th, at his home. No services will be held at this time. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bear and his family. 641-844-1234. Born on December 15th, 1946, in Kansas City, MO. he was the son of Greta Mae Wolken. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and later received his degree in drafting form the Marshalltown Community College. In 1984, he was united in marriage to Vicki Nelson in Marshalltown and later divorced. He moved to Michigan and returned to the area in 2007. Bear liked to draw, fish, and hunt and was employed as a bricklayer- participating in many local buildings including MHS, Swifts and Emerson. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Eric (Theresa) Wolken, Luke Nelson and Amber Wolken; grandchildren- Blake, Kayne, Madison, Clayton, Mia, Halo, Gwen, and Griffin, his siblings- Robert Thompson, Tom Tucker Thompson and Tim Thompson, a niece Sara and many friends. In death, he rejoined his mom and grandma, Greta Mae Thompson.
