Rosa (Mrs. Glen) Godfrey, 83, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday morning, November 24th, at the MMSC.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 29th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Rosa received her education in the Kellogg and Grinnell area schools and graduated from the Kellogg High Schools Class of 1946.On July 5th, 1947, in Newton, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Glen Godfrey. They made their home in Marshalltown where she was employed in local dress shops and Osco Drug. She treasured her family and enjoyed gardening, sewing, participating in Dutchess Dollies for the 1980 Reagan Presidential election, and riding and raising horses.Left to cherish her memory are Glen, her loving husband of 63 years, son Toby (Janice) Godfrey of Marshalltown, grandchildren: Paul Godfrey of Marshalltown, Kendra (Trent) Davis of Marshalltown, Jason (Megan) Godfrey of Marshalltown and David Godfrey of Ames, great-grandchildren Kallie and Cole Davis, her siblings: Mary Ann Wilmot of Gladbrook, Paul Dobbs of Fresno, CA., Earl Dobbs of Newton, Georgia Dobbs of Nashville, TN. And Johnny Dobbs of Marshalltown, as well as many nieces and nephews. In death, she rejoined her parents and sister Beulah Hansen and brother Ernie Dobbs.
