Rose Marie Davis

Rose Marie Rosie Davis, 80, of Marshalltown, formerly of Clemons, died Sunday, June 28th, while in the care of the Villa del Sol, Iowa River Hospice and her loving family. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2nd, at the Clemons Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born Rose Marie Diser on August 15th, 1928, in Des Moines at the Methodist Hospital, she was the daughter of Lafayette and Mary Ethel (Alexander) Diser. She graduated from the Clemons High School in 1947. On January 1st, 1949, she was united in marriage to Stanley Davis at the LeGrand Friends Church. They made their home in Clemons where they owned and operated the restaurant until moving to Marshalltown in the early 1950s. She was a loving wife, great mother and loved to watch her grandchildren and baby-sit other children. Left to mourn her loss are Stanley, her loving husband of 60 years: children Phyllis Davis of Marshalltown and Michael (Robyn) Davis of Maxwell, three grandchildren- Emily (Scot) Moore of St. Charles, MO, Jeni Davis of Columbia, MO and Maggie Davis of Maxwell, her great-grandson Will Moore of St. Charles, sisters Elsie Davis and Carolyn Pitt, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.In death she has rejoined her parents, brothers Dwaine and Elwain Diser and sister Mary Wall.
