Rose Gale

Rose Marie Gale (Menter), 70, passed away comfortably on January 31, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Rose was born on March 15, 1948 to Charles and Olga (Huber) Menter in Marshalltown, Iowa. Rose lived in Marshalltown until she got married and then lived in Union and worked in Eldora as a CNA. She moved back to Marshalltown with her three children after her divorce and lived there for the remainder of her life. Rose had a bit of a wild side and loved to show it, she would proudly wear her favorite t-shirt that stated “I’m the Only Hell My Mama Ever Raised.” She loved to ride motorcycles when given the opportunity, and she looked the part with her leather jacket. Rose was family first and anyone that knew her well would tell you the same thing. She would do anything for her children and her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family where it was something as simple as watching TV or large family events. Rose had a good luck charm in the form of Barry her son-in-law, he always had a way to make her smile and laugh even when she was in a bad mood. Rose had a lasting impact that will not be lost on any one that had a chance to know her. Left to cherish Rose’s memory is her “Better Half”, Kelly Shaerer; and children: Randy (Dee) Gale, Teresa McDonald (Barry Curtis) and Tammy (Joe) Lyon. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sondra (Harvey), Jarred (Jackie), Kristina (Kody), Jesse, Corina, Dana, Tricia, Thomas, Matthew, Michael, Dalton, and James, and 40 great-grandchildren; brothers, Carol “Nub” Menter and Kenneth Menter. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Olga, and her brother George Menter.
