Rose Marie Menter

Rose Menter, age 69, of Marshalltown, was able to rejoin her son Scott in eternal life on the night of Saturday, February 2nd, at the Accura Healthcare Center in Marshalltown.           Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be one-hour prior. Memorials may be directed in her name to the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com . Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on September 24th, 1949, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Jess James and Lois Irene (McMahon) Menter, Jr. She received her education in the area of her birth.           For 29 years, Rose was a school bus driver for the Marshalltown Community Schools, becoming the welcoming face to countless children and carried them safely amongst the miles in her bus. She loved her job and her friends at the Moose Lodge and Lioness Club. Her whole life was devoted to the man she loved- her son Scott. Scott passed away in 2006 and she longed for the day she could see him again.           Surviving are three sisters, two brothers, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.           In death, Rose rejoined her parents, grandparents, a half-sister and half-brother and her son Scott.
