Ruby Rexene Longcor March 25, 1947 - June 03, 2020 Ruby Rexene Longcor, 73, formerly of Muscatine, IA, went to her eternal home with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 03, 2020 at Mississippi Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Keokuk, IA. A private graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, IA. Pastor Ken Barlow will officiate. The service will be live streamed by Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown, IA. Due to concerns & restrictions surrounding coronovirus, there will not be a formal visitation or funeral. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Keokuk, IA at a future date. Rexene was born March 25, 1947 in Fairfield, IA to Rex Dick & Erma Davis Dick (Brombaugh).She attended Harmony High School, graduating in 1965. She went on to Southeast Iowa Community College to earn her degree in nursing, to become a LPN. Rexene was married to Ralph Longcor at Oak Street Baptist Church in Burlington, IA on October 9, 1974. She worked at Burlington & Muscatine General Hospitals, retiring from Lutheran Homes Nursing Home in 1998 to be at her mother's side during her fight with cancer. Rexene was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Keokuk, IA. She enjoyed attending church services & activities. She particularly enjoyed the occasional trip to Dairy Queen with members of her church family after Wednesday services. Rexene also enjoyed music, reading, car rides & visiting with friends. Rexene was loved & cherished. She will be missed by many including her daughter, Jenny Longcor of Muscatine, IA; her son Jim Longcor & his fiancée, Annette Phillips of Plymouth, IL; her grandson Briyer Longcor of Plymouth, IL; two granddaughters, Bailey & BriAnn Longcor both of Muscatine; & an 8 month old great grandaughter, Aurora Rice of Muscatine; & her beloved church family. In passing through Heaven's gates, Rexene was rejoined with her husband, parents, grandparents, & many friends.
