Ruby Irene Sutton, 76, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Iowa River Hospice House with her husband Ellis by her side.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. There will be no visitation the evening before. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Breast Cancer Awareness in Rubys name. Phone 641-844-1234.Ruby Irene Stanberry was born on September 28, 1935 in the University of Iowa Hospitals; she was the daughter of W.H. and Leona (Lutz) Stanberry. Ruby was educated in the Des Moines Public Schools system. On April 17, 1953 Ruby was united in marriage to Ellis Sutton in Des Moines. Ruby had retired from the insurance industry which she had worked in Des Moines, Iowa and Lincoln, Illinois as operations and personnel manager for Economy Fire and Casualty for a number of years. She had been a member of the Insurance Women Organization. Ruby was elected president of the Insurance Woman of Des Moines, Inc., local affiliate of the National Association of the Insurance Women International. She enjoyed quilting, collecting dolls, owls, reading and tending flowers, but the most important thing in her life was her family. In the past few years she spent time making beautiful items with the Ladys of Hobby Craft Club of Marshalltown.Left to cherish her memory is her husband; Ellis of Marshalltown, Paul (Deb) Sutton of Des Moines and Stephen (Susan) Sutton of Texas, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, her sister's;Mary Young and Audrey Berenice Cox,and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Rubywill be reunited in heaven with her parents; Willie and Leona Stanberry and siblings; Marvin and Naomi Stanberry and Esther Delgado.
