Ruverta Rudy Wilder, 79, of Marshalltown, succumbed to cancer Sunday morning, July 13th, at his home while in care of his loving wife, Barbara and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services celebrating Rudys life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 17th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the services. Ph 641-844-1234.Rudy was born November 7th, 1928, in Marshalltown, to Rufus and Lula (Dobbins) Wilder. He received his education in Marshalltown and then enlisted in the US Army.Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Arthur, one sister Jessie Burnett and one great-grandson, Cortez James.Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Barbara, one daughter Sheryl (Mike) Maxwell, two grandchildren: Thailyn Trumbo and Jaramie Trumbo, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Joe L. Wilder of Milwaukee, WI, sister Viola Wilder of St. Paul, MN, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.Rudy loved all of his family and the Chicago Cubs, all types of music and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Marshalltown.Pastor Bobby Shomo and Debra Jean Hayes of Houston, TX will be officiating for the service.
