Russell was in the Army in 1972 during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1974. Russell resided in Tama until 1990, where he then later moved to Marshalltown. Russells true passions were fishing and hunting.He is survived by his brother Jerry (Jean) Barker of Walford, IA; his sister-in-law Darlene Barker of Marshalltown; his many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.He preceded in death by his parents, step-father, brother, uncles, and aunts
