Russell Gene Gauch

Russell Gene Gauch, 81, of Marshalltown, Iowa, went to be with his Heavenly Savior on Monday, December 16, 2013, at his home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services for Russell will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Hannahs officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where his family will be present to greet friends. Russell Gene Gauch was born on November 28, 1932, the son of Elmer and Helen Phillips Gauch. He was raised and educated in the State Center school district graduating from State Center High School. Russell honorably served his country in the United States Army between the years of 1952-1954 in the Korean War. Russell was united in marriage to Shirley Moffit on September 16, 1956 until October of 1968. Russell later married Inez DeLay on December 1, 1972. He was employed with Fisher Controls as a tool maker for 35 years before retiring on August 1, 1986. Russell had also worked part time for Concrete Incorporated. Russell was a hard worker and hardly was ever seen with downtime. He also would buy property to fix up and then resell. Left to cherish Russells memory is his daughter Lori (Robert) Neumann, five step-children; Ella (Joe) Pagan, Donna (Charles) Lester, Karen (Dave) Hackett, Bill Mauseth and Bob (Nancy) Mauseth. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister; Ester Blythe and three brothers; Ron (Betty) Gauch, Jim (Marian) Gauch and Roger Gauch. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Helen; wife, Inez; three step-children: Norman, Jean, and Faye; and brother, Dick Gauch. Funeral: 10:30, Saturday, December 21, 2013
