Russell Haines 52, of rural Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Iowa River Hospice.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Phone 641-844-1234.Russell Dean Haines was born on June 6, 1960 in Grinnell, Iowa he was the son of Raymond Lowell and Avis Avonelle (Crocket) Haines; he attended school in the LDF SEMCO School District graduating with the class of 1978 and had attended some classes in college. Russell had served his country in the United States Army. On August 7, 1992 Russell was united in marriage to Pamela Renee Hazen at Riverview Park in Marshalltown, they had resided in Gilman and rural Marshalltown since 1999. Russell had been an Owner Operator and worked for Campbell Oil. Russell loved his 1969 Road Runner, always working on auto repairs, enjoyed the outdoors and yard work. He will be remembered for his love of life, as he told many a joke, was a fun loving man who loved his children and grandchildren and always loved the family gatherings.Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Pamela, his children: Joshua Haines of State Center, Nathaniel Kopel of Jessup, Iowa, Cody Kopel of Marshalltown, and Nathaniel Haines of Ottumwa, Iowa, his grandchildren: Parker, Patience, Kyle,Savannah, Brayden,Zachary, and Brodyhis sister, Joyce Haines of Grinnell, Iowa, his niecesand his lovable dogs, Thaddeus and Toby. In death, Russell rejoins his parents, Raymond and Avis and his sister, Connie Haines.
