Russell Lee Hasbrook, 61, of Pace, Florida, formerly of Superior and Estherville, died Monday, November 24th, in Pace, Florida.A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Born on January 3rd, 1947, in Estherville, Iowa, he was the son of Charles Fred and Mardelle (Beinert) Hasbrook. He grew up in Superior and graduated from the Estherville High School in 1965. He later attended Estherville Junior College before attending the University of Iowa for two years. Russell had been united in marriage to Connie Copley of Lincoln, Iowa, in Las Vegas. They made their home in California for a short time until returning to Superior to work at Superior Co-Op with his father. He later worked in Iowa City, in Europe and then in Texas for the oil industry before going to Pensacola, FL. He came back to Superior to care for his aging mother, Mardelle and work at Stylecraft Furniture in Milford. Due to health, he returned to Florida.Left to mourn his loss are his sister Lynda Novotny of Garwin, Iowa, nieces and nephews: Chris Wiese, Lori Michel, Michael Gaskill and Michelle Burgess, 11 great-nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews, his cousins Jeff Franck of Marshalltown, Tony Evans of Whitefish, Montana, Rochelle Ferguson of El Cajon, CA., Richard Hasbrook of Ames and Robert Hasbrookin Minnesota. In death he has rejoined his parents.
