Russell "Russ" Ruopp

On October 18, 2021, a beautiful fall day, the Lord reached out his hand, the angels came and Russell Ruopp took his last breath. Russ was born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was with the graduating class of 1979. He began employment with Lennox Industries in 1986 and worked there 33 years until his early retirement in August. Russ was a proud member of the UAW Local 813 and held various positions throughout the years. Russ loved the outdoors. Throughout his life he hunted and fished and took many trips with his buddies doing so. He enjoyed traveling the gravel roads taking in the beauty of nature. He loved to tease and hear a good joke and in the “Lennox World” he liked to help “stir the pot.” Russ will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tamara Jennings Ruopp; daughters: Callista and Shaylene; stepchildren: Emily (Matt), Elise, Jacob (Maria) and Jordan; his parents: Donald and Beverly Ruopp; mother-in-law, Doloris Jennings; grandson, Alexia; step-grandchildren: Chayten, Emma, Carter, Bailey and Axel; brothers: Mike (Mary) Ruopp and Todd Ruopp and brothers-in-law: Todd (Kaylene) Jennings and Tim (Tami) Jennings. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, October 23 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. We will be gathering together to share some of our favorite memories and our stories, to laugh, to cry and to remember a great guy who will be greatly missed.
