Rusty Robert Eggers, 53, of Gladbrook, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Rusty Eggers was born on December 25, 1968 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Charles and Cathy (Montgomery)Thompson. Rusty graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1987, Marshalltown Community College in 1989, and then went on to the University of Northern Iowa to obtain his Bachelors of Science degree in Business. Rusty was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs, and Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a God loving Christian. Rusty also enjoyed going to Osage Beach, Missouri, living there for many years, and he loved and adored his dogs.

Rusty is survived by his parents: Charles and Cathy; siblings: Julie (Bill) Preston of Osage Beach, Missouri and Amy (Brad) Cox and their children, Alexander, Austin and Adam of Garwin. He is also survived by his “favorite aunt’: Janie Montgomery of

Garwin; sister-in-law: Tina Eggers and her children Mitchell and Matthew of Farmington, Minnesota as well as his ex-wives: Jill

and Cindy, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his four legged companions, Clementine and Sweet Pea.

Rusty is preceded in death by his brother: Scott Eggers and grandparents: Darlene and Milton Montgomery and Charles and

Winifred Thompson, a cousin, and special dogs, Jazzie and Gus.
