Ruth A. Eggers

The kind and loving presence of Ruth A. Eggers, age 79, of Milford, Iowa, and formerly of Melbourne, Iowa, left this earthly life on the morning of Saturday, May 25th, at the Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake.

Per her wishes, no services will be held at this time. A joint family service will be held when she once again takes Larry’s hand and they can be together again. Ruth came into this world on January 6th, 1945, in State Center, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie and Evelyn (Couser) Davis. She graduated from the Clemons High School and later AIB in Des Moines. This all preceded a colorful career of banking and establishing lifelong relationships with her clients.

Ruth was united in marriage to the love of her life, Larry Eggers. In 1972, the family moved to Melbourne where she worked at the Melbourne Savings Bank. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Spirit Lake. Being passionate about banking and not quite ready to formally retire, she took a job at The State Bank in Spirit Lake. There too, she developed many friendships.

Left to cherish her memory are Larry, her loving husband, her son Todd Eggers, daughter-in-law Lynn Eggers, grandchildren- Jackson and McKenna, siblings- Dixie (Dennis) Walters and Jo Dee Davis, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and the Eggers side.

The moment of her passing, she was able to take her son Troy’s hand to be ushered into heaven- a face she has missed dearly the past five years. She also joined her parents and brother, Danny and sister-in-law, Donna Davis.
