Ruth Heishman

Ruth M. Heishman, 82, of State Center, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at home with family at her bedside under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service conducted by the family will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at United Presbyterian Church in State Center. There will be no visitation. Phone 641-844-1234.Ruth Marilyn Osborn was born on October 22, 1927, in State Center, Iowa. She was the daughter of Charles Red Osborn and Louise (Stowe) Osborn. Ruth graduated from State Center High School in 1945. On June 12, 1948, Ruth married Charles Junior Heishman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Ruth was a lifetime resident of State Center.Ruth was employed at Woolworths after high school. She was also employed at State Center Cleaners and Uptown Caf, but mostly was a housewife and mother. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in State Center and Rebeccas. She loved to sew, garden and canning, watching birds, and reading.Ruth will be missed by her children John (Den) Heishman of Kansas City, KS, Linda (Jon) Needs of State Center, and Duane (Marla) Heishman of Denver, CO; her grandchildren John Peterson, Anna Madison, Stephanie Heishman, Richard Heishman, Justin Heishman, Jason Heishman, Robert Heishman, John Heishman, and Lynelle Heishman; her seven great-grandchildren; her sister Shirley Bruns of Crystal Lake, IA, and many nieces and nephews.In death she rejoins her parents Red and Louise Osborn, her twin sister Florence Paul, her sister Vera Strong, her brother George Osborn, her infant sister Anna Jean, and her husband Charles Junior Heishman.
