Ruth C. Jacobson

Ruth Calista Jacobson, of Haverhill, Iowa passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family. She was under the care of Iowa River Hospice.

Per Ruth and her family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A funeral mass has been scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026, starting at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish- St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, April 27th from 8:30 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. also at the church. The family invites you to join them for food and fellowship following mass. After services at the church, a social gathering will be held at The 918, 918 N 4th Ave., Marshalltown, IA, 50158. 

Memorials in Ruth’s name may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown and the St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Ruth Calista Jacobson was born on September 16, 1955 to Raymond and Rita (Collins) Drummer. She graduated from West Marshall in 1973. On April 5, 1975 Ruth was united in marriage to Robert Jacobson. From this marriage, their four children were born, and they called Haverhill, Iowa their home. Ruth was a retired bookkeeper and business owner. She was also a faithful member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed playing card games and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved to attend her grandchildren’s many activities.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years; her children: Neil/Holly Jacobson, Michelle/Evan Otto, Traci Wright, and Tony/Alicia Jacobson, 13 grandchildren: Autumn, Derek, Ian, Kyuss, Kailyn, Kyler, Avery, Emmett, Blake, Skyler, Ashton, Makena, and Brennan. Great grandchildren: Ilah and Westyn. Also, siblings: Raechel/Mike Casey, Rose/Bob Hester, Rebecca/Randy Judge, Renee/Al Irey, Rhonda Chrystal, Roger/Ada Drummer, as well as several nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Charlene Jacobson; and brother/sisters in laws.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, sister- Raelene in infancy, brother-Raphael, niece- Jennifer Judge, nephew- Mike Robinson and her father-in-law, Robert D. Jacobson.
