Ruth Kinney

Ruth O. Kinney, 74 of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on April 13th, 2015, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames Iowa with her loving family by her side. A public visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th, 2015, from 12:30 1:30 p.m. with funeral services to follow at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Ruth Oneta Kinney was born on June 10th, 1940, in Lakeland, Florida to Harvey Coil and Mildred (Holder) Coil. She attended Marshalltown Community School District, graduated with the class of 1959 and later attended Northwest Nazarene College, in Boise, Idaho. After teaching in Idaho, she returned to Iowa. On May 25th, 1977, she was married to Jerry Kinney in Fairfield, Iowa. She was co-owner at OJs Diner, and also worked at the Iowa Veterans Home. Ruth and Jerry attended Hope United Methodist Church, she loved helping with Wonderful Wednesdays program. Ruth enjoyed camping and her family and always loved her four-legged friends. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jerry, step-son; Steve, sister; Martha Browns, several nieces and nephews, and her loving puppy, Rusty. In death, she rejoins her parents, Harvey and Mildred, two brothers and a sister.
