Ruth C. Rigney

Ruth C. Rigney, 85, of the Grandview Heights Care Center in Marshalltown, died there Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Ruth will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service. Memorial contributions may be directed in Ruths name to her family. She was raised and educated in the Gilman and Laurel, Iowa areas. Ruth worked as a nurse at the Iowa Veterans Home and cared for her family. On February 20, 1971, Ruth was married to Charles Rigney. Throughout her lifetime Ruth enjoyed cooking, helping others and was an especially proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Ruth is survived by her daughter Deb Nichol of Marshalltown, her grandchildren: Suzanne, Tina, Tonia, Chester, Chet and Jesse, her great-grandchildren: Steven, Tesa, Ashley, Bradley, Dylan, Kevin, Courtney, Brittney Le, Kambrilyn and Skylar. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her sister Wilma, a son and her grandson Kenny Wayne.
