Ryan Michael Fisher

Ryan Michael Fisher, also known as “Fisher,” age 42, of St. Anthony, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Iowa.

Services for Ryan will take place on Friday, February 10 at 4:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Friends and family are also invited to attend a visitation prior to the service, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for designation to the Boy Scouts of America – Troop 107 in Conrad. Ryan was born on December 28, 1980 in Ames, Iowa, the only son of Larry and Shelly (King) Fisher. Ryan was incredibly smart and a true self-taught “Jack of all trades.” There was nothing he couldn’t do – he was a mechanic, fabricator, computer repairman, as well as a full-time farmer with his dad. He enjoyed taking online classes and was lovingly referred to as an “information-retaining sea cow.”

He was many things to many people – best friend to his mother, father and long-time partner, Rebecca Gimzo; involved father to his stepson, Darian; amazing friend to so many; as well as a master of tact, lover of cats, singer and gun-enthusiast. Ryan never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed it. In fact, he had lock-out kits in every car, just in case somebody was stranded. In his free time, he enjoyed driving his Dodge Charger, riding his motorcycle and hanging out with his “posse.”

Left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Rebecca; his stepson Darian Gimzo; his parents: Larry Fisher of Clemons, IA and Shelly Fisher of Swan, IA; grandfather, Dr. Jerald King; several aunts, uncles and cousins, including his cousin Laura Hagler and uncle Shawn King, who were more like siblings; and many, many friends.

Ryan is preceded in death by his grandparents: Don and Holly Fisher and Joy King, as well as his stepmother, Lori DeWinter.
