Ryan Michael Whitmore

Ryan M. Whitmore, age 32, of LeGrand, passed away in the morning hours of Thursday, December 23rd, 2021.           Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Vance of Cornerstone Church in Ames officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The family would encourage you to wear casual dress or sports attire for both events. Born Ryan Michael Whitmore on June 20th, 1989, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Michael and Kelly (Price) Whitmore. Ryan graduated in the East Marshall High School’s Class of 2007.           He had a talent for selling cars and was good at what he did. He was employed at Dave Wright, Noble Ford in Newton, Deery in Ames and Jensen Ford before accepting a job at Amazon. A month ago, he began working for Lennox Industries as a Human Resources Specialist.           Ryan was a loving father to Noah and Kael. They were the highlight of his life. He also enjoyed baseball and softball, the Chicago Cubs and Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, playing bags, coaching the Riptide Girls 14U Softball and knew baseball players on his baseball cards before he could ever read. He was a social butterfly and friend to all. At the time of his passing, he attended Cornerstone Church in Ames, was a part of a Connection Group and assisted in helping the children check in for church.           Left to cherish his memory are his sons Noah and Kael, his parents Mike and Kelly of LeGrand, sisters- Alyssa (Jessy) Lennie and children Javanna and Daejon of Conrad as well as one on the way- expecting the day after Ryan’s birthday; Chelsea (Chris) Harper and their daughter Alaya of Ankeny, grandmother Georgie Whitmore of Marshalltown, girlfriend Erika Wolfe of Ames and her children Journey, Kolbie and Finley, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.           In death, he rejoins his grandparents Dean and Patricia Whitmore and Lawrence and Barb Price.
