Sandra 'Sandy' Doane

Sandra Sandy Doane, 70, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Funeral services for Sandy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Sandy and her family. Sandra Smith was born on April 15, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank Smith and Ruby McCoy. She was raised and educated in the Montour-Tama School District. Sandy had a passion for children and was a day care provider for over 40 years before retirement. She took care of and helped raise many children, including her grandchildren, whom she loved and was very proud of. Left to cherish Sandys memory is her daughter: Lisa (David) Knox; 3 grandchildren: Kelsey, Kaylin, and Braydon Knox; and two great-grandchildren: Trey Miller and Serenity Anderson. Sandy is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby McCoy, stepfather, Dennie McCoy; and siblings: Merle McCoy and Shirley Bloom.
