Sandra Kay Edwards (Sandy), 66, of Marshalltown died Saturday May 23, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family and Iowa River Hospice. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26th. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Sandy was born February, 7th 1943 in Marshalltown; she was the fifth of seven daughters born to Claude and Dolly Libby (Abney) Miller. She attended school at Aaron Palmer and Anson Elementary in Marshalltown. She was married to Billy Alfred Edwards on June 27th, 1965. Sandy loved her husband and children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much, she helped raise many of them and spoiled them all. Sandy had a special neighbor, Carol, which looked in on her daily and kept her company. She will be remembered for being very strong and outspoken and a very good cook. Sandy loved bingo, her dogs and birds and she loved her police monitor that ran 24/7, and enjoyed watching wrestling. Sandy had worked as a nurses aid and also enjoyed refrigerator magnets and wind chimes. Left to celebrate Sandys life is her husband of 44 years and her children Melody Schmidt, Billy Jr. and Tereasa Edwards, seven grandchildren, Dale, Chad, Amber, Brandon, Brad, Jack, and Ryan, fourteen great-grandchildren, Tristan, Braydon, Riley, Nadia, Miriah, Skylar, Dejan, Dominick, Dallas, Courtny, Haylee, Hayden, Madison, Cadence, sisters Marie(Earl) Cronk. Martha Miller (Rick Jones), and sisters-in-law Rosell (Murideth) Williford, and Irene (Frank) Evans In death, Sandy rejoins her Parents, a son Allen Ray Miller and sisters Barbara Stanley, Patricia Thompson, Claudia Burke, and Charlen Winters and her mother in law Ruby Wright.
