Sandra A. Logsdon, 54, of Marshalltown, died suddenly on Saturday, July 18th, at the MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Rose Wallace of the Cornerstone Family Church of Des Moines officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born Sandra Ann McDowell on May 23rd, 1955, in Chicago, she was the daughter of William Franklin and Ollie Mae (Knox) McDowell. She moved with her family to Marshalltown when she was ten years of age and received her education in the Marshalltown School. She later graduated from the Marshalltown Community College. At the time of her death, she was an associate at the MCC library. Sandra enjoyed music- especially the blues, art and was queen of shopping. She came to know the Lord recently a peace that now is comforting to her family. Sandra was battling cancer at the time of her passing and was an inspiration to all. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kenneth, Melissa, Cory and Malik Logsdon all of Marshalltown, an adopted grandchild as well as grandchildren: Demetrius, Olivia and Jasmine, her longtime companion Mike Donovan of Marshalltown, her siblings: Michael Ray McDowell, William Franklin (Calma) McDowell, Jr. Donna (Robert) Kelly all of Marshalltown, Juanita McDowell of West Des Moines, Jane McDowell (Mike) of Marshalltown, Dennis (Jessica) McDowell of Arlington, TX., Bernadette (Bill) McDonald of Kansas City, David (Tina) McDowell and Jerome McDowell all of Marshalltown, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents and brother, Edward Dean McDowell.
