Sandra Louise Pollock was born June 5, 1949 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Marjorie (Ellis) Morrison and John Pollock. Being the oldest, she took great pride in caring for her 4 younger siblings.

Sandy was united in marriage to William “Bill” Overman in 1966. Sandy and Bill had two boys, John and Michael whom they raised in the Rhodes community. She worked for the United States Postal Service, operating as the Postmaster for the City of Rhodes until she retired.

In her free time, Sandy adored spending time with her family- especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The

grandkids truly held the largest part of her heart. She loved the water- even though she would be the first to tell you she couldn't swim. She taught vortex classes at the YMCA in Marshalltown, and water walked every day she could. She enjoyed crocheting, and embroidery. She made a personalized quilt for each of her grandkids for their graduation gift. She had enjoyed socializing with everyone as they came into the post office, gardening, canning, butchering, and cooking. There wasn’t much she wasn’t willing to try.

She is survived by her life-long companion, Bill Overman; her children, John Overman and Mike (Jenn) Overman; her grandchildren, Chantel (Adam) Nicholson, Brandon Overman, Abra (Justin) Dougherty, Wesley (Megan) Overman, Benjamin (Klarissa) Overman, Nicholas Overman and Dayton Overman; 9 great-grandchildren; her sister, Connie Starn; and numerous

nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Pollock and Marjorie Morrison; her siblings Sherry Roe, Carla Morrison and Calvin Morrison.
